Evaluating the Impact of Pain Management (PM) Education on Physician Practice Patterns
This article is a study of one of the effects of the Bergman v. Chin case on medical practice. Bergman highlighted the need for better pain management for the terminally ill and the need for physicians to be better trained in pain management. As a result of Bergman, California enacted a regulation that physicians are required to take a certain amount of continuing education classes in pain management on a regular basis. The following article concludes that this regulation has had a beneficial and positive effect on bringing pain relief for the terminally ill. |
